Introduction to Shawls KAL, March 2nd 1-4 and March 9th 11-2

This first shawl in the series of shawl KALs I will be hosting, is a 3 colour elongated triangular shawl knit in Estelle’s Alpaca Merino DK. The pattern is called Correct Shawl. What I love about this one is that I think it is the perfect beginners shawl and yet still interesting enough for more experienced knitters.

  • It is all garter stitch with some basic increases and decreases and an easy to memorize pattern that is perfect for social or TV knitting.
  • This is the perfect project to start building your knitting skills.
  • I will go over the importance of gauge and chosing the right cast on and bind off techniques as well as discuss the importance of blocking and what tools you will need to do so.
  • I will also bring some of my shawls each session so you can get an idea of of how varied this shawl shape can look.
