  • One of the hot trends in knitting right now is brioche knitting.
  • You see it everywhere in accessories and in garments, as an all over texture or as just a design feature.
  • This KAL is designed to give you the basics while you knit 3 small projects. These projects have been chosen to teach you one and 2 colour brioche knitting and simple increases and decreases and knitting brioche in the round.
  • Along with these techniques you will learn how to do a provisional cast on, graph in brioche, how to do an i-cord cast on/bind off and finished edge.
  • The techniques you learn while creating these projects will allow you to go on and knit many of the patterns that are Hot Right Now on Ravelry.
  • Class Patterns:
    Water Born Headband – DK
Brioche Basix: Scarf – DK/Worsted – free pattern
Kodiak Cowl – 2 colour DK cowl or Skreppa – 2 colour fingering weight cowl, free patterns

Note: the 3 projects could be knitted with 4 skeins of Mineville 4-ply DK, 2 in colour A and 2 in colour B with a slight modification to the length of the scarf. You may also choose to do the cowl in any weight of yarn as there are a few free patterns in Sport, Worsted and Chunky that would be suitable. It is recommended that your 2 colours of yarn have significant contrast, one light and one dark-ish. Brioche knitting requires circular needles.
Cost: $60 for both Sessions plus materials.

  • You will receive a 15% discount on any yarn purchased for the class.
  • You will need to come in before class to pick out your yarn.
