A Really Great Yoke, February 12th & 26th, 11-2

February 12, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Due to the demand for this class we have added another date!!

Instructor: Brigit Hampel

There are so many great patterns with fantastic yoke designs that it is difficult to choose which one you want to knit first. Some are worked in stranded knitting and some using the mosaic technique and some have great texture designs. Which ever one you choose, you will need to be able to:

  • knit in the round
  • follow a charted pattern
  • make increases and decreases
  • add shaping using short rows
  • and most importantly, knit an accurate gauge swatch to ensure a good fit
  • In this KAL, participants will:

  • knit a gauge swatch in the round (this could be in the form of a hat)
  • discuss sizing and ease for fitting your sweater
  • review techniques required for a successful completion of your pattern
  • Note: There will be some bonus time on February 1st where Brigit will go over choosing a pattern and picking your yarn and then swatching your yarn, so that you can start your sweater with the group on February 8th. It is important to have your gauge swatch completed before February 8th if you want to start in on your sweater on that first day.
If you cannot attend this preliminary session then you will be sent instructions for you swatch.
