Yarn Over Magic, July 13th, 11:00-2:00
July 13 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
One of the most versatile of stitches in knitting is the “Yarn Over”. It is pretty straight forward but at times seems complicated because sometimes you need to really think about where your yarn needs to be to knit or purl that next stitch.
Once you wrap your brain around “Yarn Overs”, it’s amazing all the wonderful ways it adds texture and interest to your knitting.
In its simplest form it is a basic increase stitch. Coupled with decreases, it creates eyelets, mesh and lace.
On its own it can be used in drop stitched designs and pushed a little further, the simple “Yarn Over” dropped and crossed creates the Indian Crossed stitch used in patterns such as the Hipster Shawl.
Pushed a little further, the “Yarn Over” creates magic!
You will need to bring yarn and needles and stitch markers so you can knit samples.
Students will be given written pattern instructions for all the stitches covered in class as well as a list of pattern suggestions for when you are ready to go from swatches to projects.
